It’s officially spring in Houston, which means it is a great time to visit The Acre at Allen Center!
The Acre is a vibrant, one-acre greenspace located in the heart of One, Two, and Three Allen Center. The lush greenspace features a distinctive botanical experience that includes five curated landscape areas, each a unique and striking combination of color and texture. The botanical zones utilize 12 vibrant plant species, including adaptive species such as Fig, Ivy, Jasmine, Iris, and Mexican Petunia.

For tenants wishing to enjoy the sunshine during the workday, they can easily find at spot at one of the relaxed Parisian-style seating areas scattered throughout The Acre’s grassy lawns. The Acre’s design also incorporates various types of high-end, moveable furniture to facilitate large or private gatherings. In addition, the greenspace is WIFI enabled.

To offset those warmer days that Houston is known for, the 66,610 square foot promenade surrounding the central lawns utilizes grey colored pavers that reduce solar energy retention, minimizing the impact on habitants and microclimates. Also, the configuration and addition of more than 155 trees provide ample shade and reduce the temperature of the plaza by up to 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
