From the earliest stages of planning the Reimagining of Allen Center project, Brookfield Properties envisioned the inclusion of a signature chef-driven restaurant anchoring the 25,000 square foot retail and dining mix in One Allen Center’s new two-story “glass box.” Today, we’re thrilled to announce that One Allen Center will soon be home to the award-winning modern steakhouse, Guard and Grace, led by famed Denver restaurateur Chef Troy Guard.
Guard and Grace’s concept goes far beyond the traditional steakhouse and the expansion to Allen Center marks the first venture outside of Denver for Troy Guard, Chef and Owner of Denver’s restaurant empire, TAG Restaurant Group. The Denver location opened in 2014 on the street level of the Brookfield building, 1801 California, in the downtown business center. The overwhelming response from locals and travelers alike supports Guard and Grace’s reputation as one of the nation’s top steakhouses.

The new Guard and Grace will be located in the “glass box” at One Allen Center.
In recent years, downtown Houston has experienced unprecedented growth and change in and around Allen Center. Paired with Houston’s robust culinary scene, the decision to bring Guard and Grace to Allen Center was a natural fit and perfectly aligns with Brookfield’s value in placemaking.
Slated to open in fall 2019, the 13,000 square foot bi-level restaurant will be located in One Allen Center’s “glass box” and will feature indoor and outdoor terrace seating overlooking The Acre’s central lawn, as well as a full bar, and multiple private dining rooms.
A few signature dishes you can expect on the Houston menu include: tuna sashimi from the raw bar, oak fired octopus starter, and of course, an extensive selection of premium steaks.
Additional fun fact: Chef Troy Guard named the restaurant after his daughter, Grace!
