Guard and Grace, the award-winning modern steakhouse, led by famed Denver restaurateur Chef Troy Guard, is now open! The 15,000-square-foot destination serves as a new culinary anchor for One Allen Center, conveniently located in the heart of downtown Houston.

Named after Chef Guard and his daughter, Guard and Grace’s atmosphere is noticeably different from other modern steakhouses which are typically darker hued. Instead, Guard and Grace strikes a more bright and playful tone. The bi-level restaurant features two outdoor seated patios and unobstructed views overlooking The Acre, the vibrant, one-acre greenspace located in the center of the Allen Center campus.
Signature dishes on the Guard and Grace menu include: Oak Fired Octopus with white bean and celery salad, hard Spanish chorizo, sherry vinaigrette, red pepper sauce; succulent Filet Mignon; and Whole Grilled Red Snapper with Laotian tomato curry, Asian herbs, and serrano chilies. Enhancing the dining experience is Guard and Grace’s robust wine collection – guests can choose from thousands of bottles housed in their temperature-controlled wine cellars.

Since its 2018 announcement, Houston has been buzzing about the opening of Guard and Grace’s first Houston outpost! With stellar reviews from Houston Chronicle and Houstonia Magazine, we look forward to seeing Houstonians enjoy the latest addition to downtown Houston’s culinary scene.
The expansion to Allen Center marks the first venture outside of Denver for Troy Guard, Chef and Owner of Denver’s restaurant empire, TAG Restaurant Group. The Denver location opened in 2014 on the street level of the Brookfield Properties building, 1801 California, in the downtown business center.
In 2017, Brookfield Properties completed the first phase of the multi-million dollar Reimagining of Allen Center renovation. Since the beginning stages of project, Brookfield Properties always envisioned the inclusion of a signature chef-driven restaurant anchoring the 25,000 square foot retail and dining mix in One Allen Center known as the “glass box.” The opening of Guard and Grace is a significant milestone for Brookfield Properties. Phase two of the Reimagining of Allen Center, which includes upgrades to Two and Three Allen Center, is expected to be complete in late 2020.
