Have you noticed the latest murals to make a splash in downtown Houston? Last month, Brookfield Properties unveiled two Bayou City-inspired artworks in Allen Center’s underground food court, The Court. The artworks – one mural and one vinyl – were painted and designed by Roxy Prima and Phoebe Cornog of Pandr Design Co.
Inspired by our dynamic city, the artworks feature a vibrant color palette and sayings that showcase Houston pride like “Cheers Houston” and “This is the Place.” Due to the scale of this project, Pandr enlisted local support from the Houston artist community. The custom wooden “Cheers Houston” canvas was built and installed by Houston-based sign shop, RedMerle Designs. The custom vinyl was printed and installed by Thomas Printworks and Terence Tang of Tinlun Studio captured photography and videography of the project from start to finish.

Six additional murals were painted on the exterior walls of The Shops at Houston Center facing McKinney Street. Sayings like “Smile, y’all are in Houston,” “Made in Texas,” “Hey y’all,” and more are splashed across those walls.

The murals were commissioned by Brookfield Properties to create fun experiences for visitors and to encourage a more walkable and bike-able downtown. If you find yourself at Allen Center, be sure to stop by The Court and strike a pose in front of the new artworks.
