Reporting for Duty: Introducing Officer Brooks
Over the course of the last two months, we have experienced many great changes at Allen Center, including the debut of our completed first phase of the Reimagining of Allen Center. The multi-million renovation included the reconfiguration of our courtyard into a beautiful one-acre greenspace appropriately named The Acre.
Whether you’ve been enjoying lunch with colleagues or working in the Wi-Fi enabled space, you may have noticed a rather large robot making its way around The Acre and the perimeters of One, Two, and Three Allen Center. The robot, formally known as the Knightscope Autonomous Data Machine, travels through the space anywhere between 1 to 3 miles per hour and serves as a security presence.
Affectionately referred to as Officer Brooks by our tenants, the robot has become a permanent presence at our complex and supplements our current security.
As you venture onto The Acre, if you spot Officer Brooks be sure to wave hello (although we can’t guarantee he’ll wave back) and share a photo of him patrolling The Acre on social media using #TheAcreHTX and #OfficerBrooks.
