Leasing at Allen Center: A Year in Review

Last year was a phenomenal year for Brookfield Properties – Houston, especially at Allen Center! We unveiled plans for Phase II of the Reimagining of Allen Center and with that we welcomed new members to the Allen Center tenant roster. Although the new year is officially underway, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the latest additions to the office and retail mix.

Mendocino Farms

Mendocino Farms, the popular upscale fast-casual sandwich and salad destination, signed a lease at Two Allen Center for 2,849 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Mendocino Farms is anticipated to open in late Summer 2020.

Leaf & Grain

Leaf & Grain, the local health-focused grain bowl and salad eatery, opened its second location at The Court at Allen Center in late October.

Work & Mother

Work & Mother signed a lease at Three Allen Center to occupy 949 square feet of space on the street level. Work & Mother provides a network of fully equipped pumping facilities for working mothers who are breastfeeding. The new location, anticipated to open in summer 2020, will have 10 private rooms, hospital-grade equipment, and workstations that provide mothers with hands-free pumping.

Guard and Grace

Guard and Grace, the award-winning steakhouse led by famed Denver restaurateur Chef Troy Guard, officially welcomed its first guests this past fall. With signature dishes such as delicious Oak Fired Octopus, succulent Filet Mignon, and tasty Whole Grilled Red Snapper, Guard and Grace is a perfect option for lunch or dinner! The 15,000-square-foot destination serves as a new culinary anchor for One Allen Center.

C. Baldwin

The transformative C. Baldwin hotel, formerly the DoubleTree Hotel, is now open! While you’re enjoying your stay, dine at the hotel’s signature restaurant Rosalie Italian Soul from Top Chef Master Chris Cosentino, and shop at experiential boutique Sloan/Hall. Additionally, the luxury nail salon, Paloma, is set to open in late February.

2020 is a big year for the Allen Center campus! Phase II of the Reimagining of Allen Center is expected to be complete late this year. Key elements of Phase II include:

  • For Two Allen Center, a new two-story lobby, second floor outdoor terrace that will face The ACRE, and updated retail bays and tenant mix.
  • Three Allen Center will feature a renovated lobby as well as a new shower and locker facility.
  • Renovated elevator lobbies and elevator cabs will be created for both buildings and a new sky bridge will connect Two and Three Allen Center.

We are thrilled with the progress that was made over the course of 2019 and we look forward to all that 2020 has in store!
